One unique feature of the GLS program is interaction between GLS scholarship recipients (and their families) and GLS donors through coordinated communications and activities. To that end we are pleased to launch the GLS Mentor Program. The GLS Mentor Program provides GLS student scholars with the opportunity to be mentored by successful Kansas State alumni/GLS donors. Students and mentors are paired to meet periodically through the academic year. GLS mentors listen, advise and counsel GLS scholars on a variety of topics that are important to the students.
Cliff Gilbert
Brice Lowe
Cliff Gilbert, KSU ’81 and Brice Lowe, KSU ’08, part of the GLS alumni network, have agreed to serve as initial GLS mentors. Cliff is a graduate of the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at K-State and Sloan Masters Fellowship Programme at London Business School. He is retired in Denver, Colorado with previous stints in corporate jobs including AT&T. Brice is a graduate of the College of Business Administration at K-State. He is a wealth advisor and partner at Aero Capital Private Wealth Management in Wichita, Kansas. Both have extensive experience mentoring in their business careers. Cliff and Brice are working on ways to broaden the GLS Mentor Program including periodic Zoom calls with GLS scholars and GLS donors in a town hall format. Cliff Gilbert added, “Historically companies who hire from university campuses have indicated the need for improved communications skills, adaptability/managing multiple priorities skills, and decision making/problem solving skills with their new hires. The GLS Mentor Programs focuses on these skill development areas.”
We are pleased to announce the following GLS student/mentor pairings for the 2024-25 academic year: Paxton Etheredge paired with Brice Lowe; Aiden Lyons paired with Cliff Gilbert.
GLS is a community of Kansas State alumni and friends established to combine a unique fraternal experience with impact financial scholarships offered to Kansas State students who demonstrate extraordinary leadership potential.
